I know how you feel and it's not fun! I was in very painful labor with contractions about a minute apart for over 5 hours then my labor slowed down and finally stopped for a whole day. My son came out with the side of his head coned. He wasn't in a good position and I think that's what stopped everything up. I don't really know I am just guessing. hey, my husband's wages have been garnished as of two paychecks ago for a credit card debt. we are in the middle of filing chapter 7 bankruptcy. We understand that once the paperwork goes through that all garnishments will stop. However, we are struggling with this garnishment. We wrote a statement to the court to stop or decrease the amount of the garnishment. We received a notice back today stating that we can file a motion hearing. We also got a paper back saying 'wage objection is being returned due to motion hearing' does this stop the garishment until the court date or will the garnishment continue until settled? I think anybody who has taken them after they were made illegal in MLB, or anybody who got them before 2005 illegally should be punished. I saw Rick Ankiel on the list and of course we've heard so much about him and have found out that he took them for only a little bit, BEFORE it was made illegal in MLB, and he didn't get them illegally with the law. They were prescribed for his injuries for a short period of time. So anybody in his situation shouldn't get punished, but otherwise the rest should. Makes perfect sense to me.

All My Music Is Gone!?

We reinstalled windows and pretty much wiped out our hard drive recently. Before we did that we bought a small portable hard drive so that we could save important doents and files. I made a playlist of all my music and transferred it onto the hard drive and now when i try and open it with windows media player it wont open. It was saved as a "wpl" file. Is there any way to change it to a usable file type (such as wma or mp3) so that I can use the music or is it pretty much all lost. Any suggestions help.

Why is there pain in my inner upper left thigh?

Last night i had a horrible dream. My friends and I were away at some woodland beachy area where we were camping. My friend tess had come along and all of our friends had found out she died. I'm not sure the cause of her death, but we all found out and were hysterically crying. We all were writing her name on rocks and trees. I freaked out and was crying uncontrollably and walked down the beach. I couldn't help but fall over and just lay there with my head down balling my eyes out. Some girls on my field hockey team were there and said "well she has no shame". I had walked down to the beach because i really wanted to write my message to her on this huge rock coming out of the ocean. Then somehow we were all back from the vacation and all my friends were planning to take another trip before school started.I was in the other room and left a message on Tess' phone. I can't remember exactly what the message said but it was somewhere along the lines of "tessiee! i miss you so much..i am so mad that god has taken you away from us and i will never forgive him for that,but of course there isn't a god, right! haha .. i will never forget you .. i think about you every minute of every hour of every day .. even though you have ped away, you will forever be with me in my heart..i love you." And i woke up from that dream at an earlier hour that i usually wake up and i couldn't stop crying for about 15 minutes.If you could help me with this dream it'd be great!!!

Help please? Am going on sun holiday next week and my husband really wants me to go on a waterslide with him. He is an expert swimmer and I recently learned to swim after 30 years of being petrified of water. I am not a strong swimmer at all. 11 month old and sleeping?

She was taking a bottle in her bouncer before bed then when finished i would put her in bed and she would fall right to sleep, then wake up anywhere from 2 to 6 and want a bottle and go back to sleep. I sent her to my moms for two days and she came back wanting the bottle in bed with her, my mom admitted she went against my routine and laid her down with a bottle. Now i can't get her to go back to the way it was plus the hard part is she's waking up twice a night now. She's almost a year old, my other two were all nighters from 6 months of age but this one has to be difficult! I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to what i should do to break her of this. I have no issues with letting her cry for a bit, but it seems as though she'll cry forever. I tried giving her a couple minutes to cry then going in and laying her down and walking back out, but after almost an hour of fit both nights i tried, i broke down and gave her a bottle. today when i came home from school my dog started out acting normal, he wanted his routine treat that i give him wen i come home. I also just lost my son who was 2 day away from his 2 month birthday and he had not received that shot at all. At approx' 02:20 hours on the 26th Sept 2010, my husband and I saw YET another orange glowing ball of light 'thing' travelling in a south westerly direction. We have seen a number of these now since new years eve of 2009, and they're bugging the hell out of us. They travel in a straight line, are soundless, and go faster than any plane we have ever seen. No sooner do you see the damned thing, than it travels so fast there is literally no time to grab a camera. We live in Dunstable in Bedfordshire England, a few miles from Luton Airport, and so are used to seeing and hearing lots of commercial aircraft and even the local police helicopters fly over our house. We know others have seen them, but does anybody know what they are? We've tried all the logical explanations we can think of. Remember, no sound, straight level flight path, no flashing lights or distinguishable shape to them, just a glowing ball of flame coloured light and incredibly fast. Also, tonight there is no wind, so please people, don't suggest chinese lanterns. If it was a chinese lantern, it would have to have a rocket at its rear end to make it travel so fast, and it would have to be an incredibly intelligent lantern to never deviate from its straight level path. Sensible answers only please. Thanks.

So yesterday and today I have noticed that no one slows down when they are apporaching a construction sit regardless if there are construction workers or not. I live in WI and I was going into IL and right on 45 north there going into IL there is a lot of construction being done to make more split highways to prevent congestion. The speed limit was 45 and everyone but me and a few more other cars where going 45 everyone else was speeding p. What to do with a 8 week-old fussy baby?

My daughter is 8 weeks old and has been a really fussy baby. She is still fed and sleeps on demand (every ~3 hrs during the day and ~4 hrs between 11pm-7am). she sleeps ok during the night and before noon, but she pretty much spends all her waking hrs between noon and 10pm crying whenever she is awake. She eats ok every meal, then I'd burp her, change her diaper... and then she'd start crying. I tried putting her in the bouncer, hold her at different positions, jiggling, singing, etc. --- nothing works. the crying would continue until she grows tired and takes a 30 min nap until the next feeding. It is tough for me cos I have a 2.5yr old as well and she gets jealous sometimes. It is also very exhausting for me. I'm lucky to have my parents' help now, but eventually we'll be on our own. I'm contemplating going back to school for a nursing degree. Currently I'm tossing around getting my ASN first (cheaper, closer to home) and then my BSN. For those that have gone this route, how much longer does it take to get the BSN or should I just apply for an accelerated program (I already have a BS in Psch and an MS in Health Admin)? My concern is how cost-effective is the first option vs the second? I'm from Oklahoma and, while I'm not gay (or bi), I have known several gay people here. None of them have ever been bashed or jumped that I know of. However, don't confuse Oklahoma for being a liberal state. If you are underage and presumably still in school I would suggest trying to hide it at least until you are reasonably sure you would be accepted or until you graduate from high school. In the small town where I live we have had a couple of "out" gay students in the past few years and they have been accepted by the students and teachers, but these also were kids that had grown up in this town and everyone pretty much suspected they were gay for years so when they came out it was no big surprise or ordeal. As for Tulsa, just like the rest of the state, is big with evangelical Christians, and you will probably be judged and told you are going to hell, but you won't be stoned to death. I have known of two different gay people, both adults, who live in Tulsa. One is a brother to a friend of my wife's and the other is the brother of a guy that works for me. There is a gay community in Tulsa believe it or not. I haven't been there but supposedly there is a gay neighborhood just off Downtown in an older area and the gays are all remodeling the houses. Old sick dog question?

Our 12 y/o Golden/Lab mix has stopped eating. We think he has a bleeding gastric ulcer. No appetite, nausea, black stools, etc. He has gone from about 95 lbs to 65 lbs. He is so weak. I can understand why you are frustrated. May I suggest a gentle leader instead of a pinch collar? These are very effective and can be used on dogs of any size. Its almost like "reigns" for a dog. It will not hurt them at all and you have so much more control over the dog. Its much safer for who handle them and the dogs. Just keep on trying to talk to your parents and work with the dogs when you can? Maybe you can enroll them in obedience cles or have a dog trainer come with you to your parents house. Good luck!

2000 VW Beetle chiming w/ no keys in ignition?

I am a 61 y.o. disabled r.n. and I share this diagnosis with you. I was diagnosed as having this disorder in 2004 and it was the primary cause of my becoming disabled after working as an r.n. for 20+ years. I would imagine that you have done some reading about the disorder, which is a good thing. But I think it is also important to bear in mind that while some very negative things and pessimistic things can be said about this condition, in the long run with good pain management, you may find that the symptoms reach a plateau and you may be able to function better than you were in the beginning. I joined the organization mentioned previously, which is called COFWA (circle of friends with arachnoiditis). For me, I decided that such support groups tend to cause me to overfocus on my symptoms, and to worry that I might develop symptoms others are talking about. But that is me--I would encourage you to try this support group and see how it works for you. I also found that there tends to be a lot of blaming of doctors for the onset of this disorder. I do not agree with that. In my opinion, those of us who develop this disorder may do so in reaction to a process or procedure that other people tolerate without developing arachnoiditis. There is still a lot that is unknown about arachnoiditis, but I definitely don't feel there was any negligence or malpractice responsible for my developing this problem. But I do understand that folks in chronic pain may feel very angry at time, and might unwittingly blame people who are really not to blame, like their doctors. I am totally confused if I can do any sports ociated with running. My doctor in Ukraine told me that I cannot do any sports. No running, no jumping, no pressure on my feet at all. Cat food allergy could be the problem...I had a cat with food allergies and she had sores for a long time (even after antibiotic shot and e-collar) before they figured it out at the vets office. She had to be on a limited ingredient diet for 6 weeks before the sores disappeared. She is still on that diet now and no more sores and she is perfectly fine! It was very awful to go through with her though. She had to wear an e-collar for a few weeks! Yuck!

What am I to expect out of my in-laws?

I had 2 sister in laws and mother in law in the backseat and then my 2 kids also in the backseat and me driving for 2 hours. My in-laws did absolutely nothing but bicker amongst themselves like chipmunks the entire 2 hour drive, my kids were mostly silent. This 40 year old s-i-l also had the gall to offer me advice on how to get along with people and that I should accept the fact that she is grumpy and deal with it. She said she was attacked by me and started screaming at me at the top of her lungs while I was driving telling me that she was tired of my "sh$t". Does anyone think she was right? Or is that she was hurt and being indignant because I expressed disdain and perhaps disgust at her behavior the entire time. For pretty much our entire relationship, married 6 years in August and together over 10 yrs, my husband I believe, I have made into a self centered unappreciative A**hole! Yes I know I should have never started doing this but I didn't mind specially when I didn't work. He never pushed me into it either I just did it. Over time I have realized anytime I ask him to do anything he acts like it is not his job! Almost like how dare I ask. The more time goes on the more ungrateful he gets! I have been unemployed for 2 months we decided it would be better to wait 6 months to get a job because we are moving over an hour away. So again I find us fighting about WHAT?, o ya me being lazy. I want to take a frying pan to his head! LAZY!!!! you son of a ***** seriously.............. I think that was really brave of Neville. I totally have a new respect for him, even though he is a fictional character. I think that he has always been as important as harry and the others just no-one has really noticed him. I have a 9yo step daughter who after a couple of really horrible situations with her bio mother lives with her father and me full time. Her mother never calls, or even returns/answers calls when my step daughter tries to contact her. The problem is every time a call takes place (with or without her talking to the woman) my step daughter has a full on nuclear meltdown. It always turns into how much her mother has going on in life and that is the reason she won't answer or call back. How can i not be horrified by roller coasters?!?

Don't worry about them. When it's moving, force yourself to ENJOY it. Laugh, and remove thoughts of fear because the roller coaster won't hurt you. I was scared, but I just put my whole self into ENJOYING and then I couldn't get enough of them. Try this method on less-scary or short coasters first and work your way up. Once you've made yourself get strapped in, you can't change your mind and you'll have to force yourself to have a good time and you won't regret your past decision when you get off. It also depends on who you're with - there's always an afraid one and a too-eager one. When you're queueing if you can SEE the coaster don't look until afterwards! It looks scary but when you're on there the fear will be replaced with fun. Let it be a surprise. Good luck :)

My 4 year old son has had a sty on his eye for a littel over a week now. At first it was just slightly red, then a tiny bump and now it is a big lump of pus. I can't see the infected eyelash follicle or anything though. I have been having him hold warm tea bags on it which helps a bit with the swelling and he says it does not hurt or itch at all. So should I let it come to a head on its own or is this the kind of thing that really needs a dr? And will the dr lance it or prescribe ointment etc? I've lived in Finland for 2 and a half years now and my Finnish is maybe 45% perfect. Most of the things I do involve English though so that makes it a little harder. To learn Finnish you really need to study it intensively and you also need a lot of self motivation. It's a language you can become very easily frustrated by because it's so different to, at least in my case, English, but also many other more common languages.

hahaha 50% of football players in D1 dont grduate because they go to the NFL! and i think its mostly because of rivalries that have been going on for 50-60 years BEFORE the NFL started......the way i look at it, there was college football before the NFL and it will continue to be there to mold the lives of young men across america for years to come....if you cant appreciate collegiate football for what it is you can hardly call yourself a football fan....its not about the players...its about the game itself, the century -long rivalries, the nostalgia,the pride, and tradition that makes D1 football so enjoyable for eveyone....you sir may need to take a step back and really think about what NCAA football is all about...not to mention its used as a talent pool for your beloved NFL.....I love both college and pro ball....Im just glad that its football season again...i dont care wheather you like the NFL better or NCAA better but you cant deny either of its legitimacy....

Well, Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Boulder are all very nice towns with very active people, outdoor activities, and alot of things to do...Colorado Springs has a few military bases, so there are alot of guys there and little to do for young professionals...Boulder is a pretty expensive place to live or buy a house, and Fort Collins is a college town so its great to meet people and its growing alot. I've lived in Springs, Denver, and Boulder. I think Denver is a nice city, good jobs, nice neighborhoods, good population of young professionals, and its close to the mountains, hiking, etc. Good luck, most will say its a great state to live in!

Do these books (listed below) have any COMMON THREAD or THEMES?

Of those books, I have only read Notes from the Underground, Hamlet, and Waiting for Godot. Between these three novels/plays, they all have an existential element to them. Waiting for Godot is most obvious- the protagonists spend the entirety of the play waiting for something that never comes. Why are they there? What exactly is it that they're waiting for? Hamlet is second most obvious. His famous "To be or not to be?" soliloquy questions his own existence. He is constantly, throughout the play, questioning his existence and his goodness. He does not understand why, if he is so bad and was born to such a bad mother, he is alive. Notes from the Underground is difficult in general, or at least it was for me. The protagonist struggles with fitting in with society throughout the entire story. He thinks he is more intelligent, more advanced than his peers and he thinks that this sets him above them all, yet he still yearns for their companionship- as soon as he gets it, he spurns it. Needless to say, they don't like him much (and neither do I). Sparknotes puts this into better words: "Paralysis of the Conscious Man in Modern Society." The protagonist despairs in his existence because he never seems to have what he expects he deserves. The Dostoevsky connection is a bit weak, but if you can fit those other books that I haven't read into this existentialism thread, you might have something! I hope I've helped :)

Acute pancreatitis question?

hi I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. over the weekend and spent a day and a half in a hospital receiving ivs and only drinking fluids. This was due to my alcohol use. I only drink socially but when I do I binge drink. Im not an alcoholic just a normal college kid. Im having a hard time accepting the fact that I may be able to ever drink again but is there anyway I possibly could if I closely monitor my alcohol use and drink in moderation and cut back a lot. Obviously my health is #1 and I am planning on taking an indefinite time off of drinking until I fully recover from this. It sucks bc my friends 21st bday is in 2 weeks and me and a bunch of friends were planning on going to celebrate in vegas for spring break in 1 month. The doctor said I recovered really fast bc I had been taking good care of my body otherwise (diet) etc. So will there be any possible way I can come back or is alcohol a done deal in my life?

Hello. Might be just muscle strains but could also be a hairline crack in your ribs that you don't know about. Should get it checked though because I had something similar one time and found out that I actually had pneumonia but didn't have any signs. This is also going to sound a little strange, but could be asthma and when you laugh hard, the airways in your lungs close up a little. An asthma attack causes chest pain exactly how you described it. You should really get it checked.If it is asthma, can be very serious if not diagnosed and treated as it will only get worse. Recovery from a mive stroke?

My mother is 51 years old and suffered a mive stroke 3 days ago, the doctors made a small incision in her head and put a little tube to extract all the bleeding, wich they say is alot, all over her brain. They have not given us much hope they say its rare for someone her age to have suffered such a mive stroke, however they do say that she is young and strong, and her heart is doing fine and she is moving, they have her on sedatives because she does move alot. but thats about it, so we are hopeful that she has not lost body movement. they have her on a breathing machine but they want to tak her off it and see how she does on her own in a few days. can someone tell me if there are other people that have recuperated from something similar, we are just clinging to hope.
